Evan Campbell, better known as KETTAMA, rose to prominence with his distinctive rave-infused house music and loop-driven club tracks. Despite his rapid success, KETTAMA has expressed that fame was never the objective—his sole intention was to share his music with the world.
Hailing from Galway, a quaint town on the Atlantic coast of the Republic of Ireland, KETTAMA faced the challenges of limited nightlife and early club closing times. Yet, he made the most of the opportunities available. At 17, he and Shampain, a close friend and frequent collaborator, secured a spot in the backroom of Carbon, a now-closed Galway nightclub. KETTAMA spent the next three years honing his craft there, spinning records and posting his original tracks online. With few networking opportunities in Ireland’s club scene, he turned to music forums, Facebook, and SoundCloud to share his creations and build a loyal following.
